This recipe was featured in the Adrian Paper in 1968.
1 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons milk 1 egg 1/4 cup melted real butter 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Sift flour into bowl. Drop other ingredients in middle of flour. Mix dough with fork and then with fingers until very stiff. Roll out very thin on a floured surface. Sprinkle lightly with flour. Let stand 20 minutes. Roll up as a jelly roll. Cut into thin slices with sharp knife. Spread on floured board for 2 hours. Drop into boiling soup or broth and cook for 10 minutes.
Kevin remembers his grandmother not rolling up like a jelly roll; but cutting into small 'pillows'.
I stew a chicken (make homemade chicken soup and add the dumplings)
